Biography
Dr. Okolo is currently Chief of Endoscopy and Director of the Pancreatitis Center at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has worked as the Staff Gastroenterologist and Director of Interventional Endoscopy at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Dr. Okolo has published dozens of peer-reviewed scientific articles and has also been listed as one of America's Top Doctors by the Consumer Council of America in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Dr. Okolo has been on a quest to find better ways to provide care for people with gastrointestinal illnesses, better ways to use the gastrointestinal tract as way to treat the rest of the body using endoscopy. He has also been pursuing the use of these techniques to treat obesity.
When Dr. Okolo is not working on clinical teaching, developing tools and guidelines, or researching the impact of new technologies and pharmaceutical interventions, he enjoys travelling and staying physically fit. He has a black belt in Taekwondo and participates in endurance training with over 20 marathons under his belt.
